Sino-African Midwifery Assistant Program
  • As a concrete practice in response to China's Belt and Road Initiative, this program not only focuses on the urgent needs of African countries in the field of maternal and child health, but also enhances local midwifery capacity through systematic training to contribute to reducing maternal and neonatal mortality rates. Furthermore, it takes a long-term perspective, deepening China-Africa health cooperation by taking the transfer of professional skills as a link, and injecting practical momentum into promoting the building of a China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.

    The School of Nursing has formulated a comprehensive and rigorous curriculum and training program, consisting of five modules: Foundations of Obstetric Anatomy and Physiology, Antepartum Assistance Techniques, Intrapartum Assistance Techniques, Postpartum Assistance Techniques, and Management of Common Obstetric Emergencies. Adopting a teaching model that integrates theory with practice, the training covers classroom teaching, laboratory practice, clinical observation, and social practice, helping trainees master midwifery knowledge and skills.

    The program has brought together a group of outstanding faculty who are proficient in bilingual teaching and possess rich clinical midwifery experience. With the collaboration and overall coordination of multiple departments, the program has advanced steadily and progressed smoothly. Trainees have shown strong interest and enthusiastic participation during the course of their studies. They generally report that the knowledge and skills acquired through this program will have a positive and far-reaching impact on their future career development and professional practice.
