  • Professor Janelle Yorke Visited Our School to Explore New Paths for Nursing Discipline Cooperation
  • On the afternoon of October 29, 2025, Professor Janelle Yorke, Dean of the School of Nursing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and her delegation visited our school for exchange and discussion. Professor Cai Fuman, Dean of our School of Nursing, Professor Huang Xiaoqiong and Professor Dong Chaoqun, Associate Deans, as well as core faculty members and staff from the Academic Affairs Office attended the meeting. Both sides exchanged views on new opportunities for the development of nursing education.

    At the beginning of the meeting, Dean Cai Fuman extended a warm welcome to Professor Janelle Yorke and her delegation. He pointed out that this exchange is of great significance for deepening cooperation between the two universities and promoting the high-quality development of the nursing discipline in our school, laying an open and mutual-learning tone for the entire meeting. In the subsequent introduction to the school, Dean Cai systematically elaborated on our school’s school-running mechanism, discipline layout, talent cultivation characteristics, and internationalization initiatives. He highlighted our school’s adherence to the philosophy of “integrating medical practice with education, and putting talent cultivation at the core”, and shared practical experience and achievements in integrating clinical nursing resources and building a teaching quality assurance system. Dean Cai emphasized that this in-depth dialogue with the School of Nursing of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is not only an important opportunity to learn advanced experience, but also a brand-new starting point for promoting resource sharing and win-win cooperation between the two sides. He expressed the expectation that through this exchange, both sides would further build consensus and expand cooperation space.


    Professor Janelle Yorke then shared the development advantages and achievements of the nursing discipline at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. She focused on two core highlights of the discipline’s development: first, its outstanding global reputation— the nursing discipline has long ranked among the top positions in various international rankings, reflecting its profound accumulation in nursing education and scientific research; second, its prominent scientific research and innovation capabilities— its fruitful academic achievements provide strong support for theoretical innovation and practical development in the field of nursing. In addition, she introduced the university’s exploration in promoting the in-depth integration of nursing technology and clinical application, vividly interpreting its development philosophy of “driving innovation through practical needs”.

    During the discussion session, both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics including the establishment of a faculty exchange platform, the expansion of short-term student exchange channels, the joint application for scientific research projects, and the sharing of high-quality teaching resources. They also reached initial consensus on establishing a regular cooperation mechanism.
