To respond to the national strategy for the internationalization of medical education and further advance the development of the "Study in Wenzhou Medical University" brand, the School of Nursing successfully held the Young Teachers' English Teaching Competition on March 25. Dean Cai Fuman and Vice Dean Dong Chaoqun of the School of Nursing attended the competition. A panel of senior experts from the School of Nursing, International Education College and affiliated hospitals was invited as judges. Seven young teachers competed on the same stage, demonstrating the international demeanor of nursing educators in the new era through full-English teaching.

Vice Dean Dong Chaoqun extended a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all expert judges, participating teachers and observing teachers. She emphasized that international student nursing education is a vital part of the college's internationalization drive, and young teachers' active dedication and intellectual contributions in this field are of great significance to advancing the internationalization of the college's nursing education.

Dean Cai Fuman delivered an opening speech, stating that teaching is the lifeline of the college's development, and young teachers are the most dynamic force in this lifeline. Young teachers shoulder the important mission of broadening students' international horizons, fostering their critical thinking, and enhancing their cross-cultural communication skills. The holding of this English teaching competition is not only an initial assessment of young teachers' English teaching competence, but also a key measure for the college to implement the philosophy of "student-centered education and quality-first development".

The competition covered core courses such as Health Assessment and Surgical Nursing. Breaking away from traditional teaching frameworks, participating teachers innovatively adopted cutting-edge teaching models including immersive scenario simulation and AI-aided explanation. They elaborated nursing knowledge from multiple dimensions, perfectly integrating linguistic accuracy with inspirational thinking.
Adhering to the principles of fairness and impartiality, the expert judges evaluated the teachers' teaching demonstrations and lesson plans from five dimensions: "language & demeanor, teaching content, teaching methods, teaching effectiveness, and teaching design". They put forward personalized improvement suggestions, especially regarding classroom interactivity and AI-empowered teaching.

Teacher Chen Yanman (Delivery Mechanism) and Teacher Sun Youyang (Compartment Syndrome) won the Special Prize.

Teacher Chen Xinxin (Gastroduodenal Ulcer) and Teacher Huang Shiting (Intermittent Catheterization) won the First Prize.

Teacher Lin Shudan (Adolescent Myopia Prevention and Control), Teacher Liu Yanjia (Abdominal Palpation) and Teacher Zhang Ting (The Nursing Process) won the Second Prize.

This English teaching competition showcased the outstanding bilingual teaching capabilities of young teachers. Taking this competition as an opportunity, the college will build a trinity platform of "competition-exchange-growth" to foster a distinctive bilingual faculty team. This will inject strong impetus into cultivating versatile nursing talents with a global vision and jointly write a new chapter for Wenzhou Medical University.
