To help African countries reduce maternal and neonatal mortality, advance the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, and respond to the Belt and Road Initiative, Wenzhou Medical University has developed a training program relying on its strengths in midwifery education to deliver auxiliary midwifery skill training for African participants. Launched in 2018, the program has enrolled a total of 330participants from 27 countries.
2026 Angel of Life for Africa Midwifery Assistants Training Program at Wenzhou Medical University will be from July 23 to August 3, 2026.

Angel of Life for Africa Midwifery Assistants Training Program includes theoretical and practical learning and cultural experience. Nursing and midwifery professional teachers from the School of Nursing and affiliate hospitals of Wenzhou Medical University 、Wenzhou People's Hospital and Wenzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine work together on this program. They all have rich experience in teaching overseas students and being expert in providing clinical midwifery and neonatal nursing. Apart from that, the program also provide contents of cultural experience, which aims to deepen the understanding of Chinese traditional culture, promote the friendship between trainees from China and Africa.
