Professor Cai Fuman, Dean of the School of Nursing, Associate Dean Dong Chaoqun, faculty representatives of the school, and the student delegation from Hong Kong Polytechnic University attended the exchange forum, which was presided over by Associate Dean Dong Chaoqun. This visit marks the first time that the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University has sent a student delegation to our university for professional exchanges in nursing, indicating that the cooperation between the two schools has evolved from top-level framework design to regularized substantive interactions among young students.

In his speech, Dean Cai Fuman, who also serves as a visiting professor at the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, extended a warm welcome to the visiting student delegation. He stated that this exchange is a practical measure for the two schools to further deepen strategic cooperation in the nursing field and implement existing cooperation achievements, as well as an important practice to further promote the implementation of the Ministry of Education’s “Ten Thousand People Program”. Meanwhile, it actively aligns with the work deployment of the “2026 Hong Kong, Macao & Zhejiang Week” and the Zhejiang-Hong Kong Economic, Trade and Innovation Cooperation Conference issued by the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government.

He reviewed a number of cooperation consensus previously reached with Professor Janelle Yorke, Academic Dean of our school and Dean of the School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, covering faculty exchange, student communication, scientific research collaboration, and joint doctoral training. He emphasized that the school will continue to deepen in-depth nursing cooperation between Zhejiang and Hong Kong, and jointly promote the coordinated quality improvement of the nursing industry in the two regions.

Furthermore, Dean Cai comprehensively introduced the school’s school-running advantages and achievements in disciplinary development, talent training, scientific research innovation, international cooperation and social services. Combining the distinctive regional culture of Wenzhou, he elaborated on the contemporary connotation of the Wenzhou people’s “Four-Thousand Spirit” to the Hong Kong students. Based on the school motto, he encouraged young students from both regions to stay true to the original aspiration of medical workers, devote themselves to nursing profession, forge excellent professional capabilities, broaden international horizons and improve comprehensive literacy through mutual learning in cross-regional exchanges, so as to demonstrate the responsibility and commitment of contemporary young Chinese nursing professionals. The student delegation from Hong Kong Polytechnic University expressed their willingness to help nursing students from both sides grow and develop together by virtue of the bilateral cooperation platform, combining their professional learning and clinical practice experience.

The successful launch of this activity has further consolidated the foundation for in-depth cooperation between the two schools and gathered consensus on collaborative talent cultivation, building a solid platform for the subsequent official signing of the strategic cooperation agreement and the orderly implementation of a series of exchange activities. In the future, relying on the high-quality educational resources of both sides, our school will continuously improve the cooperation mechanism, expand cooperation fields and enhance cooperation efficiency. We will give full play to the resource advantages of both parties, realize the integrated development of nursing education and disciplinary construction in Zhejiang and Hong Kong, strive to build a distinctive brand for international nursing cooperation between Zhejiang and Hong Kong, and contribute the strength of Wenzhou Medical University School of Nursing to the quality upgrading of regional nursing causes and the integrated development of nursing education in Zhejiang, Hong Kong and the international community.
